The Gross & Welch Real Estate Group represented Oriental Trading Company in the development of its 1.2 million square foot warehouse and distribution center in La Vista, Neb. Headquartered in Omaha, Neb., Oriental Trading Company is one of the nation’s leading direct marketers of novelties, party supplies, toys and home décor. The company has approximately 3,500 employees throughout its facilities in Omaha, Ralston, Fremont and Underwood, Iowa. The company’s first phase of development is a 600,000 square-foot warehouse facility, which will be located near 114th & Giles Road. It will employ up to 70 people and build on OTC’s 70 year history as a successful Nebraska company. Ground for the facility is expected to be broken this spring and the facility is to be operational by early 2005.

The Gross & Welch Real Estate Group represented the Boys & Girls Club of Omaha in the development of its 27,750 square-foot youth center. The Boys & Girls Club has been delivering programs in the North Omaha community since 1962. The Boys & Girls Club will sell its current building at 26th and Hamilton Streets to OPS for $4.9 million, using the proceeds to build a center just to the north at 26th & Franklin Streets. The purpose of the club is to create a campus for education and youth development in north Omaha. At an estimated cost of $3.5 million, the new center will include a gym, cafeteria, meeting rooms, a library and computer lab, administrative offices and separate areas for teenagers and younger kids.
