Garnishments: What to do when you receive a garnishment order
When you run a business there is nothing quite as aggravating than starting your work day with an Order of Summons in Garnishment and Interrogatories, served upon you by the local sheriff. The first thing some employers do is try to give the assignment to someone else at the business, hoping and praying that the person follows the instructions relating to the interrogatories. The employee who receives this assignment from you is already thinking about how he or she can unload it to someone else. Before long, 10 days have passed and you get notice that the interrogatories were not properly answered. Please join Jim Waldron, an attorney with Gross & Welch with over 30 years of experience, while he discusses how to address these greetings from your employees’ creditors and how to make certain that you do not become the party liable to these creditors.
